Welcome to the Archives Catalogue

Welcome to the online catalogue of the University of West London Group comprising the collections of the University of West London Archive (UWLA) and the Ruskin College Archive .

The Collections

The University of West London Archive (UWLA) was established in 2017 to preserve and make available the important historical collections of the University of West London (UWL). These include the archives of academic institutions which make up the foundation of the University as it is today, as well as collections of local organisations which are significant to the surrounding area and link to the courses taught at UWL. UWLA holds archive material for as far back as 1932 right up to more recent times in 2016 (dates may change once cataloguing is complete). The collections include a variety of types of archives including documents, ephemera, photographs, publications and artefacts. The online catalogue contains collection and item level descriptions for the historical records in the care of UWLA.

The UWL archive is supported by the National Lottery through the National Lottery Heritage Fund and through a generous donation from Heathrow Airport.

Ruskin College Archive is a historic collection of material relating to the activities of the college. The collections span from the college's founding in 1899 to the present day. The archive includes a variety of records from administrative to published material. The archive also holds material related to the courses taught and organisations associated with the college which includes extensive collections of trade union history and various social movements and thinkers.

The collections are still being actively catalogued so please continue to check back for updates. You can find more information through the links below. Please reach out with any enquiries via the contact details available through the archives' websites below.
